Managing and Treating Our
Waste

As the nation progresses and our lifestyle
become more affluent, waste generation has
also increased. The challenge is to develop
proper waste management facilities that
are socio-economically viable and
environmentally friendly to manage and treat
the increasing volume of waste.

  Bukit Tagar Sanitary Landfill

Landfill has traditionally been the predominant and principal method of waste disposal in Malaysia. As part of the country’s waste management strategy, the government aspires to develop properly engineered sanitary landfills to replace traditional facilities.

In this context, the Bukit Tagar sanitary landfill serves as the benchmark being the premium sanitary landfill in Malaysia, and the region. Located 50 km from Kuala Lumpur, the Bukit Tagar sanitary landfill is accessible from the North-South Expressway via a purpose built interchange constructed by KUB-Berjaya Enviro Sdn Bhd, the developer and operator of the landfill

Bukit Tagar sanitary landfill is designed to manage and treat municipal solid waste from Kuala Lumpur and parts of the Klang Valley.
